Thursday 26th March saw the first of two consecutive workshops on the identification of Eyebrights (the genus Euphrasia) led by Chris Metherell, the UK Botanical Society of the British Isles expert on the genus and hosted at the University of Reading Herbarium as part of our #museumweek activity. All attendees were taught how to look at eyebrights critically and which features to check for when identifying the many species and hybrids. Tomorrow sees a second materclass with a new group of apprentices. It is good to have our RNG herbarium specimens checked so thoroughly!
